Did I get your attention?  Hope So!  How could I possibly let October go by without blogging. It is the one month out of the year that people are truly making an effort to be aware of breast cancer. And what does Breast Cancer Awareness mean, exactly?

I suppose it depends on who you ask.  For someone who has lost their Mother, their Sister, their Aunt or their best friend to breast cancer, it may mean a month or memories about that special person.  For those who are currently diagnosed with breast cancer and in the process of treatment there may be irony in a month of breast cancer awareness (as if they need to be reminded) but, hopefully it's an affirmation to them that we haven't given up, we are behind the fight, taking action to save lives.  Possibly our very own life.

For the many  organizations and centers and health care persons that research, diagnose, treat and provide care for breast cancer patients, it is a PLEA to put this disease on the front burner.  Know the facts, know the symptoms, know your resources for support.  Become familiar with the latest research developments and donate frequently to research and to organizations that provide support to those with breast cancer and their families!

And for those who have beaten breast cancer-this is a month of Celebration!
Join me and many others and get involved by participating in a fundraiser or event that promotes awareness, education and also funds the fight against breast cancer.

While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its' early stages and encourage others to do the same.
